celebrates sixth consecutive year of Christmas growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Online department store Freemans has reported its sixth consecutive year of growth over Christmas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freemans.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">retailer<\/a>, which<a href=\"https:\/\/www.retailgazette.co.uk\/blog\/2023\/09\/freemans-catalogue-online\/\"> ditched its print catalogue<\/a> in 2023, saw revenues grow 12% over the four weeks to Christmas, while sales also increased 9% over the 12 weeks to 2 January.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retailgazette.co.uk\/blog\/tag\/freemans\/\">company\u2019s<\/a> new shopper numbers jumped 9%, website visits rose 10%, home category revenues climbed 16%, and fashion sales grew 3%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The figures come as the broader UK retail market witnessed a 0.3% decline over Q4.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n\n\t\t<div class=\"rght-related-articles-middle rght-latest-articles mb-4 mt-3\">\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Related 400;\">The retailer attributed its performance to a \u201ctriple-pronged approach\u201d of \u201ccontinually developing the pureplay offering, targeting the crucial 40+ female shopper with fashionable yet affordable products,\u201d as well as \u201cpartnering with the best-loved consumer brand across every department\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This had enabled it to \u201cdeliver another set of market-beating sales,\u201d saying its strategy had \u201cconverted a new generation of customers who had not previously engaged with Freemans.com\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freemans CEO Ann Steer said: \u201cThe so-called golden quarter has shone very brightly for [us].\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe have seen exceptional growth across every department, even against a background of decreased consumer spending, with the momentum we have created clearly continuing.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She added:\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur brand partnerships continue apace with more big names to be unveiled for 2026 and we will continue to
