According to market research firm Mintel’s UK convenience stores market report for 2026, the UK convenience store market hit an estimated £54 billion in 2025 and is expected to increase to £61.8 billion by 2030.

The report also highlighted that grocery multiples were “investing more heavily” in smaller format stores “to capture everyday missions and food-to-go spend”.
